Blueberry

Yummy….Blueberry Candy! It’s so, so tasty and delicious. Blueberries & Cream Original Gourmet Pops, Blueberry Taffy, Blueberry Cheesecake Ozark Delight Lollipops, Blueberry Jelly Belly beans, who could resist any of these scrumptious treats? I submit to you anyone who denies the irresistible taste of blueberry candy cannot be trusted.

My best friend in middle school, Natalie, was a wild and crazy girl. We were thick as thieves, ditching school together, partying over all weekend, chasing boys, it was fun times. I can’t say she was the best influence on me though. We got into quite a lot of trouble together. One time we decided to shoplift some candy from Mr. Johnson’s corner store just for the hell of it. She stole some Milk Chocolate M&M’s and I stole some Blueberry Candy Sticks.

Mr. Johnson saw us out of the corner of his eye and chased us out of his store. We ran full speed all way the down the street hopping fence after fence! It was completely nuts! Mr. Johnson couldn’t keep up because he had an old war injury to his leg. We were so young and immature, we laughed at him as we disappeared into the neighborhood park.

On a park bench we were to share our candy, but Natalie refused because she declared she did not like Blueberry Candy. I was dumbfounded. She stonewalled me and kept all the M&M’s to herself. I soon began to notice other things about Natalie...like she never did her homework and just copied mine. And she would ‘borrow’ money from me and never pay it back. Perhaps worst of all, I caught her kissing my first boyfriend behind the school, but she lied to my face and said she never did it!

I soon grew to hate Natalie, my best friend. But I’ll always be thankful to her for teaching me a valuable lesson about life. Never trust anyone who doesn't love Blueberry Candy.
